Knight Library Deaf Resistance and Affirmation Art Exhibit

The Linocut Prints of Artist David Call

David Call is part of the artistic movement Deaf View Image Art (De’VIA), which reveals Deaf people’s experiences through images created by Deaf people. His artwork underlies a desire to reveal the truth about the oppressive experiences in his own life as a Deaf person and the truth about how Deaf people experience the world. His art promotes a reframing of how Deaf people are viewed by the dominant culture.
